NOSOTROS LOS ESPAÑOLES

WE THE SPANISH PEOPLE

Synopsis

El Legado Español – We the Spanish People 1513 – 1821

The author, Eva García, highlights in a chronological narrative, in both Spanish and English, the milestones and historic feats of Spaniards in what is now U.S. territory. Part of the book's content has featured in an exhibition tour that has been available to visit in various locations across Spain.

This work is inspired by traditional postcards, offering a journey through these passages of history. It's an unusual itinerary, with brief messages of great visual impact, illustrating the little-known history of the Viceroyalty of New Spain in the territory of the current United States of America. It brings to light the arrival of the first Spaniards to those lands from the 16th century and the contributions, efforts, and fundamental input of the kingdom of Spain to the birth of the world's first power. More than five hundred years documented with data of special significance that, without a doubt, should be a subject of study on both sides of the Atlantic. "El legado español. We the Spanish People" captures the fruit of collaboration between the Ministry of Defense and The Legacy Association in their effort to disseminate the extensive cultural heritage of Spanish origin that, even today, is present in the United States of America.
